5 Winter Fashion Trends to Try Now

Posted on 12 January 2017

#1 Lots of Velvet

Fashionisers dubbed velvet the material of the year for winter 2017 for a reason. It is elegant, beautiful, classy, soft to the touch and warmer than other materials. Whether you are stepping out for a party or layering for street style, velvet is the best choice for the season. The 80s seem to have made a dashing comeback this year with fitted velvet pantsuits and shimmery long dresses paired with textured boots.

#2 Jeans!! Ripped and Cuffed

One of our favorite fashion bloggers, Blair at Atlantic//Pacific wears it well. A slight cuff-roll on a pair of skinny or boyfriend cut jeans is the trendiest way to add some flare to your street style this year. Hit the streets with a pair of cuffed jeans and flashy heels or cute ankle boots and you will be styling! Add some rips to the knees for extra flare.

#3 Faux Fur

Nothing is more cozy and stylish than a fuzzy faux fur coat or vest. This winter, faux fur has made quite a comeback with styles ranging from funky 70s retro to bulky 90s trends. Wrap up with some style to brave the cold winter days ahead.

#4 A-sym or off the shoulders

If you live in Texas you will understand the annoyance of the back and forth cold, hot, freezing, sweltering weather this winter. I made the mistake of packing away my summer clothes only to pull them all back out making a mess of my room yesterday. Nothing has been more comfortable and convenient than the off the shoulders look this winter and it just happens to be treding..yay!!!

#5 Thigh High Boots

Street style by day and night life fashion by night. Thigh high boots have hit the scene this winter and we are digging it. Want to wear a short skirt or dress and stay warm? Problem solved! Red thigh highs with a black dress and you are all set with a simple day to night outfit.
